Biographie
Der Schlagwerker Christoph Sietzen wird in der Presse als Ausnahmetalent gefeiert und für seine erfrischende musikalische Natürlichkeit, seine technische Virtuosität sowie ausgeprägte Bühnenpräsenz gelobt. Im Alter von 12 Jahren gab er sein Debüt bei den Salzburger Festspielen und ist u.a. Preisträger des Internationalen Musikwettbewerbs der ARD (2014).Er wurde mit dem ICMA (International Classical Music Awards) Young Artist Award 2018 ausgezeichnet; in der Saison 2017/2018 war er „Rising Star“ der European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO); 2019 erhielt er zudem einen OPUS KLASSIK als Nachwuchskünstler des Jahres für sein Album „Incantations“. Für Konzertengagements gastierte Christoph Sietzen u.a. in der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, im Wiener Musikverein, im Barbican Centre London, in der Kölner Philharmonie, den Konzerthäusern Berlin und Wien, dem Concertgebouw Amsterdam, dem Müpa Budapest, der Gulbenkian Foundation Lissabon, dem Palau de la Música Barcelona, dem Stockholm Konserthuset, dem Bozar Brüssel, der Suntory Hall Tokyo sowie Festivals wie den Salzburger Festspielen und dem Grafenegg Festival.

TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No. 2, (“Ukrainian”)
Tchaikovsky considered Ukraine a second home and refuge, and he began work on this symphony while staying just outside of Kyiv. One of his most joyful compositions, this symphony creatively incorporates Ukrainian folk songs. The concert features a percussion concerto commissioned for Christoph Sietzen, who has been praised as an outstanding talent, “a refreshingly natural musician notable for his technical mastery and powerful stage presence.”
